

JoAnn (Tanasi) Edelwich, 81, of Newington, entered into God's care on Monday, January 6, 2025, with her loving family by her side. Born in Hartford, JoAnn was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Garofalo) Tanasi.
JoAnn enjoyed a successful career as a Manager at Bradley, where she formed lasting friendships with her co-workers and was known for her dedication and warm personality. Beyond her professional life, JoAnn found great joy in life's simple pleasures. She cherished Sunday dinners with her family continuing a beloved family tradition. Her deep love for her late mother, Rose, was evident in the close bond they shared throughout their lives.
An animal lover at heart, JoAnn adored her dogs and found comfort in their companionship. She treasured her special relationship with her sister Paula, and their regular dinner outings were a highlight of her weeks. The beach held a special place in her heart, where she found peace and joy in the ocean breeze.
JoAnn will be remembered for her devotion to family, her warm smile, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome. Her greatest pride was in her role as a mother and grandmother, creating lasting memories with her loved ones.
She is survived and will be deeply missed by her two sons, Michael Edelwich and his wife, Linda, David Edelwich; her beloved sister, Paula Rick; her cherished grandchildren, Michael Edelwich, Amanda Warner, and Racheal Taylor; her granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, JoAnn was predeceased by her youngest sister, Beverly Tanasi.
A time of visitation will be held Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 4 – 7 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield. Funeral services will be Friday, January 10, 2025 – a Prayer Service will be held at 9:00 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, 930 Burnside Ave., East Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741.
