John Ryan

John Francis Ryan, Sr. of Madison, formerly of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully on December 21, with his loving family by his side. John was born in Taunton, MA on April 17, 1927 to the late Daniel and Helen (McNamara) Ryan. Immediately after graduating high school he enlisted in the Navy, entering WWII. John received his Bachelor’s Degree from Boston. Upon graduation joined and became President of the Catholic Grads where he met many lifelong friends including the love of his life, the late Louise (LaCourse) Ryan. Louise predeceased John in 2007 after almost 50 years of marriage. After graduating, he went on to work for Monroe Company for 22 years until he opened his own business, Connecticut Data Communications, LLC. In his retirement, he became a much beloved realtor. John was a man of many interests including tennis, sailing at the Cape, skiing and snowmobiling, as well as gardening. He also enjoyed many travels around the world with his family.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Mark Casparino of Madison; two sons, John F. Ryan, Jr. of Middletown and James Ryan of Plainfield; three grandchildren, Alexandra Casparino of Boston, MA, Nicholas and Jack Casparino of Madison and his brother, Joseph Ryan and his wife Marie of Florida.

Besides his wife he was predeceased by a son, Daniel J. Ryan and four siblings, Daniel, Charlie, Mary and Eleanor.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday (December 27) from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield, concluding with a service at 12 p.m. Burial will be at a later date in Village Cemetery, Wethersfield.
