

Joseph Paul Vaina, 67, Bristol, passed away suddenly at home on August 11, 2017. Joseph was born in Hartford on January 18, 1950 and was the son of the late Sebastian Vaina and the late Josephine (Fote) Vaina-Sanderson. Joe was self-employed, working in shoe repair and he was truly a skilled craftsman in his field. Joseph also loved the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition, he belonged to the Knights of Columbus of Hartford. Joseph especially loved time spent with his family, he was a devoted father and grandfather and will be missed by his sons, Joseph E. Vaina and his wife Kerry of New Jersey, Christopher Vaina of West Hartford, John Vaina and his wife Ashli of West Hartford, and Michael Vaina of West Hartford. In addition Joseph will be dearly missed by his beloved grandchildren, Tiffany, Jacob, Victoria, Sofia, Lola and Delilah. Joseph leaves his sister Sandra Mozzicato of Rocky Hill and he was sadly predeceased by his daughter Elizabeth Vaina and his sister Trudy Wroubel. “We will all miss our Dad very much, his love and dedication to his children and all those who knew him, will live in our hearts forever.” A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Avenue, Hartford. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow immediately at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield.
