

Josephine (Gulino) Angelico, 94, of Wethersfield, wife of the late Joseph J. Angelico, Sr, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 3, 2015 with her family by her side. Born in Canicattini Bagni, province of Siracusa, Sicily, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Emanuele and Maria (Guerrieri) Gulino. She was married to her beloved husband for 54 years and was a communicant of the Church of The Incarnation in Wethersfield. Josephine was a talented pianist and as a young girl enjoyed attending the opera with her parents. She graduated from Hartford Public High School where she was a member of the A Cappella Club. She went on to work for the State of Connecticut and the State Services for the Blind. Together with her husband Joe, she owned and operated Angelico’s Restaurant in New Britain until their retirement. Josephine is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Paul J. Angelico and wife Barbara of Middle Haddam, Emanuele J. Angelico and wife Christine of New Britain, and Joseph J. Angelico, Jr. and wife Charlie of Wethersfield, with whom she made her home; nine adored grandchildren, Jeffrey Angelico of Norwood, MA, Lauren Evans and her husband Todd of West Roxbury, MA, Kristen Angelico of Middle Haddam, Kristen Kelleher of Wethersfield, Emanuele J. Angelico, Jr. and Joseph John Angelico both of New Britain, Maria Angelico, Joseph J. Angelico, III and Alexander Angelico all of Wethersfield; and five cherished great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Amelia, Benjamin, Max and Marina. The family would like to extend their special thanks to the staff of Hartford Healthcare at Home as well as Josephine’s private caregivers, Irena, Agnes and Mary, whose wonderful care and compassion will never be forgotten. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday April 8, from 4-8 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield. The funeral service will be Thursday April 9, at 9:15 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield.
