Joyce M. (Chapman) Gesualdi

Joyce M. (Chapman) Gesualdi, 92, of Wethersfield, beloved wife of the late Frank W. Gesualdi, Sr. died Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Hartford Hospital. She was born April 14, 1922 in Hartford and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Williams) Chapman. Joyce worked for Hartford Hospital for 31 years. She loved working there and always had a comforting and warm smile as she greeted the visitors. She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. She was sadly predeceased by four sons, David M. Gesualdi, Sr., Frederick Gesualdi, Nicholas Gesualdi and Frank Gesualdi, Jr. Joyce leaves behind her children, Ann Wolanin, Beth Russo and husband Andrew, all of Wethersfield and Joseph T. Gesualdi and wife Beverly of Rocky Hill; sisters, Beverly Dillon and husband Edward of Wethersfield and Hope Varrichio and husband Anthony of Cromwell; daughter-in-law, Caroline Gesualdi of Rocky Hill; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, her husband and four sons, Joyce was predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday (May 3) at 9:30 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Calling hour will be Saturday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
