Lemoine Ruth (Thompson) Forman, lovingly known as Lee, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, surrounded by family and friends. A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, Lee will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the quiet strength she shared so freely with those who knew and loved her.
Lee and her twin sister, Loretta, were born in New Britain, Connecticut, to Howard and Katherine Thompson. She was a proud graduate of New Britain High School, Class of 1964, and carried lifelong connections to the place she called home.
In 1966, at the age of 19, Lee married Henry Chesery. Together they welcomed three children, beginning their family in Connecticut before settling for a time in Florida and later Maryland. Lee’s devotion to her children never wavered. She later found love again with Michael Forman, with whom she shared many happy years.
Once their children were grown, Lee and Mike embraced a new chapter, moving to Vermont where they owned and operated an inn and restaurant for twenty-one years. After retiring, they relocated to Virginia, and Lee ultimately spent her final, cherished years surrounded by a loving community in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Lee was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Katherine Thompson; her twin sister, Loretta; her stepson, Jeffrey; and her beloved husband, Michael Forman.
She is survived by her devoted children, Alecia, Tony, and Danny; her stepson, Brian; and her brother, Phil (and Pat). She also leaves behind her treasured grandchildren—Anthony, Chelsey, Bradley, Kellie, Roxanne, and Benjamin—and her great-grandson, Fin, who brought her immense joy. Lee is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and caring neighbors who were blessed to share in her life.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lee’s life at a graveside service to be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 10AM in Fairview Cemetery, 120 Smalley Street, New Britain, Connecticut (Section 37).
