

Liberata ""Lee"" M. (DeSimone) Grippo, 83, of Wethersfield, beloved wife of the late Frank L. Grippo, died Tuesday (November 15, 2011) at Avery Heights Nursing Home, Hartford. She was born September 23, 1928 in Hartford and was the daughter of the late John and Rosa (DiLoreto) DeSimone. Lee was employed for over 30 years at the original Connecticut Bank & Trust in Hartford. She formerly was the secretary at St. Lawrence O'Toole Church in Hartford and later worked for CRT, being involved with the senior nutritional program. She was a member of the Young Italian Women's Club and was also a longtime faithful communicant and member of the Women's Club of the Church of the Incarnation, Wethersfield. She is survived by her daughter, Rosalie Grippo of Wethersfield; and her son, Joseph Grippo and wife Celeste of SC; two brothers, John DeSimone and wife Suzanna of West Hartford and Anthony DeSimone of Reno, NV; her sister, Christine DiLoreto of Wethersfield; two adored grandchildren, Gina Russo and husband Vincent and Nicole Burgos and husband Xavier; and three cherished great-grandchildren, Dominik and Max Russo and Gianna Burgos, as well as several nieces and nephews. Lee was predeceased by a brother, Rocco DeSimone. A special thank you to the staff at Avery Heights for the care, compassion and love shown to Lee and her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday (November 18) at 9:45 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. The burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours are TODAY from 4 to 7 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
