Lori Ann Montanaro, 59, of Wethersfield and Old Lyme, passed away November 30, 2016. She was born December 8, 1956 in Harford and was the daughter of the late Nicholas W. Montanaro and Joyce (Cuper) Montanaro. Lori was an unforgettable friend, sister, and most importantly, a one of a kind Auntie. Her proudest achievement in life was being an aunt and her love for her nieces and nephews was unconditional. Lori left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She spent her life traveling and left her mark on the world. She was always the life of the party and lived by her own set of rules. She lived in Hawaii, California, and Seattle, where she had her own business selling artwork. To Lori family meant everything and she always put them first. She instilled her loved ones with a joy for life and countless memories. She was an amazing, strong and unstoppable woman. She lost a courageous battle with cancer after being diagnosed over two years ago. She never lost her spark or let the cancer break her spirit. She will be greatly missed and certainly never forgotten. We may have lost a sister, a niece, a friend, a cousin, and an aunt but we all have gained a beautiful Guardian Angel. She is survived by her caretakers and best friends, her brother, David Montanaro and her nephew, Joseph Grodovich who were always by her side; her brothers, Nicholas Montanaro, Andrew Montanaro and his wife Karen; her sister, Anna and her husband Joe Grodovich and her sister-in-law, Susan Carlson. She will also be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews, Joyce and Jessica Grodovich, Nikarra and Tim Drugan, AJ and Kelly Montanaro and Christina, Matthew and Emma Carlson. She is predeceased by her sister-in-law, Darlene Tolli Montanaro and her brother, Thomas Montanaro.
