

Lucinda (Gutierrez) Lewis, 90, of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2018. Born in Callao, Peru on October 28, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Enrique and Lucinda (Lima) Gutierrez. Lucinda immigrated to the United States in the 1960’s. She retired at the age of 70 from the Bridgeport Fittings Company, where she was a machine operator for many years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, playing bingo on Wednesdays at the Wethersfield Senior Center and shopping. She also enjoyed spending time with her neighbors at AHEPA 58 where she lived for many years. Lucinda was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her.
Lucinda is survived by her daughter Cynthia, her son-in-law Fidel Cruz and her cherished grandchildren, Brandon, Justin and Adriana Cruz, all of Wethersfield. She will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, Lucinda is now reunited with her siblings, Olga Podio Sanchez, Mafalda Podio Mory, Elena Podio Espinoza, Juan Podio Lima and Cesar Enrique Gutierrez
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, February 5th at St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Avenue, Hartford. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, February 4th, from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
