

Margaret (Fazio) Camillieri, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother died Saturday, (February 16, 2008) at Ellis Manor, Hartford, at the age of 101. Born in Springfield, MA on November 9, 1906, Margaret grew up in Agawam and was the daughter of the late Michael and Maria (Lucia) Fazio. She resided in Hartford for the past 75 years. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Harry Camillieri and her son Wayne H. Camillieri. Her brother, Charlie Fazio, sisters, Florence Polverari, Catherine Angrisani, and Rose LaBonte, also predeceased her. Margaret is survived by her devoted grandchildren, Lisa C. Berasi and her husband Stephen of Arlington, MA, and John D. Camillieri of New York City; a loving sister, Mary Villamaino of Wilbraham, MA; a sister-in-law, and close dear friend, Dina Camillieri of Wethersfield; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Following graduation from Municipal Hospital School of Nursing, Margaret was a lifelong, devoted, and caring nurse who, after retirement continued to volunteer for the American Red Cross Blood Bank. Margaret had many great qualities in her long life, but she will be remembered most especially for her kindness, and genuine thoughtfulness towards others. She was a trusted, compassionate and dear friend who loved to laugh. Margaret loved her church and was a devoted communicant of St. Augustine Church, Hartford. She also liked to play bridge, go shopping and cook Italian dinners. According to her grandchildren, she made ""the best soup in the world"". Margaret's family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the entire staff at Ellis Manor for taking such great care of her. She was treated as a family member with much care, love, and kindness, and due to that dedication she lived to be 101 years old. Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday at 11a.m. at St. Augustine Church, Hartford. The burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours are Thursday morning from 9-10:30 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield.
