

Margarita “Margo” Rodriguez, 93, of Hartford, beloved wife of Nicolas Rodriguez for 39 years, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 surrounded by family. Born in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico on March 22, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Giullermo and Petrolina (Rodriguez). Margarita was a talented seamstress who worked for many years at Factory Que Fashion. Her greatest pleasures in life were sewing, cooking Spanish meals, and baking. Spending time with her family was most important to her.
More than anything, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and sister who will be forever missed by her loving husband Nicolas; five children; Daniel Virola of Bristol, Margarita Virola of Wethersfield, Evelyn Virola (Martin) of Hartford and Joann Carrasquillo of Bristol, Iris Zapata (William) of Texas; nine adored grandchildren; Janet, Eddie, David, Juan A., Helena, Amanda, Marlene, William Jr,. and Mitchell, and eleven cherished great-grandchildren; Julius, Skylar, Tyanna, David Jr., Alexus, Briana, Hayley, Layla, Janelis, Jaylen, and Miles, and one loving great-great-grandchild Landon. She is also survived by her siblings, William Ramirez of New York, Jose Luis Ramirez (Carmen) of Puerto Rico and Ana Leon of Wethersfield, as well as many dear nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was predeceased by her grandson, Ricardo Arroyo.
A Funeral Service celebrating Margo’s life will take place on Tuesday, January 23, at 10 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Margo’s family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, January 22 from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
