Richard, I write this with heavy heart in hearing about Maria. Richard, it seems impossible to speak of any consolation in the face of such a bitter loss.  I know Maria had many friends and I am proud to be one of them (even though it was short).  She truly loved you dearly and I know the children were also her pride and joy.
Please accept my sincere love and sympathy to you, Richard, and your children.

When I read that Maria had passed away, I felt that I had to say something to her family. 

I do not know you, but I knew OF you. I used to work at a pharmacy in town, and Maria would come in to pick up things on a regular basis. I remember the first time I met her. When I asked for the last name, she smiled, did a little ""dance"" and said ""Dance, like I'm doing right now."" I knew then she was a bright and kind spirit and every time she came in after that, I immediately knew who she was and we would both do ""the dance"" and laugh.

Mr. Dance, I was going through a divorce at that time, and your wife knew of it. She always made it a point to ""check in"" on how I was doing. I want to tell you that from the start, her love for you was very evident and her devotion to you as a wife was immeasurable.

To her children: Your mom talked about you ALL of the time. She was so very proud of all three of you and she always had a funny story or something to brag about regarding any one of you or all of you. She will always be with you, in you, and watching you. Make her proud and carry on her legacy of beauty, kindness, and joy.

I beleive in angels, and I beleive that love keeps those that have passed on with us, just in another form. Your wife, and your mom is not gone. You can't see her, but she is with you. Just in the short time that I knew her, it was clear that her husband and children were everything to her and that even death will not stop her from watching over you and being there.

I honestly have a feeling that when she got to the gates of Heaven, and was asked for her name, she smiled that smile, and did her little dance, and waltzed right on in.

Please accept my condolences, and know that all of you are in the thoughts, prayers, and hearts of many.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.

There are no words capable of describing what Maria meant to all who were blessed  to have known her.  Her presence will be missed by all who loved her and whose lives she touched.

Mr. Dance,
You do not know me but I knew Maria as a patient of Dr Sehl and now Dr. Thomsen for over 20 years. We were both pregnant at the same time 20 years ago and raising families over the  following years.  On each of my vists to the dentist we would chat and catch up.  While we only saw each other on these visits 2 to 3 times a year, I felt a bond with her and her light hearted spirit.
A month ago we had a nice chat about you and the children.  I was shocked to stumble over the obituary last night.  She was a terrific gal and I will pray for all of you that you find some reason for this tremendous loss. I believe that she will be with you in small ways over the next few months to guide you in your new life without her. My sympathy is with you.
