Maria Osorio Serrano

Maria Osorio, 74, of New Britain, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side. Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Gregoria Osorio Serrano. Maria loved music and dancing. She’ll be remembered for her fun and flirtatious spirit and impeccable fashion sense. Aside from her love of cooking and entertaining others, she was always there to help people in need, continuing her work as a caregiver until her final days, despite her long battle with cancer.

Maria is survived by her three children, Gloria Morales Osorio of Caguas, Puerto Rico, Andres Estrada of Caguas, Puerto Rico and Javier Antonio Estrada of Hartford; two brothers, Enrique Rivera Serrano and Angel Luis Rivera Serrano both of Caguas, Puerto Rico; two sisters, Clara Iris Claudio Garcia Serrano of Hartford and Enriqueta Garcia Serrano of Caguas, Puerto Rico; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday (March 10) at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. A service of remembrance will take place at 7 p.m. in the funeral chapel at the conclusion of calling hours. Burial will be at a later date.
