
Marian 'Tina' Cody Garber, beloved wife of Marvin J. Garber died Friday (January 18, 2008), in Florida. She was born in Winsted, the daughter of the late John and Josephine (Zapulla) DiBenedetto. She lived in Newington and Hallandale, FL prior to retiring to Florida. Marian taught in the Hartford school system before retiring in 1980. She was a magna cum laude graduate of CCSU and valedictorian of her class. Marian earned two graduate degrees from CCSU, a Master of Art degree and Master of Science degree. Besides her husband, she is survived by a grandson, Robert J. Cody, Jr. of New York City and a daughter-in-law Jeanette Cody of Old Saybrook and Lauderdale by the Sea, FL. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Marian was predeceased by a son, Robert James Cody, a brother, John DiBenedetto and a sister Mildred Seraphin. Funeral services will be held Monday January 28 at 9:15 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield, with a Memorial Liturgy at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church in Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Rocky Hill.
