Marjorie ""Nana"" (Hill) Meehan, 90, beloved wife of John J. ""Papa"" Meehan of Newington, passed away on Tuesday (April 4, 2006). She was the daughter of the late Bertram and Marjorie (Timmons) Hill. Having grown up in Lexington, MA, Nana raised her children in Reading and retired with Papa to East Harwich on Cape Cod in 1981. The Cape house became a beacon for Nana's ""family of friends"". Selfless, generous, kind, patient and loving, Nana found and nurtured the best in everyone she met. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three children, Kathleen Olson and her husband, Ken of Windham, NH, John J. Meehan and his wife, Pamela of Glastonbury, and David Mollica and his wife, Donna of Windham, NH; seven grandchildren, Kristin Italiano and her husband, Ron; David and Peter Olson; Seth Meehan and his wife, Clair; Andrew and Sean Meehan; and Whitney Mollica; three great-grandchildren, Julia, Stephen and Jack Italiano; and nieces and nephews. Nana was a member of the Hartford Hospital Auxiliary, the Red Hat Society at Cedar Mountain Commons and an active communicant and volunteer at Holy Trinity Church in West Harwich, MA. She enjoyed her garden, walks on the beach, cooking and baking, but most of all enjoyed her family. Besides her parents, Marjorie was also predeceased by two brothers, Walter and Arthur; and by her sister, Marion Shea. On behalf of Marjorie, her family would like to thank the loving caregivers at Hartford Hospital, Jefferson House and Cedar Mountain Commons. Funeral service will be on Monday, April 10 at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 260 Main Street in West Harwich, MA. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Monday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Harwich, MA. Memorial services will also be held at later dates in St. Matthews Church, Windham, NH and at the Chapel in Hartford Hospital.
