Mary Ann (Forte) Moran

Mary Ann (Forte) Moran, 81, of Naples, FL, formerly of Simsbury, beloved wife of Noel F. Moran for 53 years, passed away Monday, November 30, 2015 with her devoted husband by her side. Mary Ann was born in Hartford on June 21, 1934 and was the daughter of the late William J. and Grace F. (D’Esopo) Forte. Mary Ann is a graduate of Mount St. Joseph High School in West Hartford and Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY. She was an avid bridge player and a member of Hop Meadow Country Club in Simsbury for 45 years and 23 years at Quail Creek Country Club in Naples, FL. Beside her husband Noel, Mary Ann is survived by her daughter, Alicia A. Hobson and husband Byron of Millsboro, DE; and her son, Francis X. Moran and wife Guadalupe of West Hartford, two adored grandchildren, Daniela and Valentina Moran; her brother, Joseph D. Forte and wife Peggy of Farmington and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, William Rocco Forte.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 4th from 4–7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel at 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, December 5th at 11:30 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church at 872 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford. All are welcome to join us for a reception in celebration of Mary Ann’s life at Hop Meadow Country Club at 85 Firetown Road, Simsbury immediately following the mass.
