Mary (d'onofrio) Bigelow

Mary E. 'Nanny' (D'Onofrio) Bigelow, 92, of Wethersfield, beloved wife of the late Stanley Bigelow, passed away peacefully Friday, (July 16, 2010) in Wethersfield in the presence of her loving family. Born in Hartford, daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary (Potenza) D'Onofrio, Mary was a proud resident of the South End of Hartford for more than 60 years. She was a member of St. Augustine Church, the St. Augustine Rosary Society and the Tau Omicon Alpha Sorority for more than 50 years but most of all loved being with her family, baking and cooking. Mary is survived by a daughter, Karen Costello of Wethersfield; her devoted brother, Jimmy D'Onofrio of Wethersfield; four grandchildren, their spouses and great grandchildren, Christopher and Tammy Costello and their children Ryan and Michael of Wethersfield, Michael and Michelle Costello and their children Jake, Amber, Gabby and Haley of Dayville, Mark Costello and Christine of Boston, MA, and Stephen Costello of Wethersfield as well as several close nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by a son, Richard Bigelow. Funeral services and burial in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery will be private. Memorial contributions in Mary's name should be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
