Mary Calvo

Mary (Santangelo) Calvo, 93, formerly of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 23, 2017, in Lafayette, Indiana. She was born on April 22, 1923 in Hartford to the late Salvatore and Maria Carmela (Failla) Santangelo. She was the loving wife of the late Vincent ""Jimmy"" Calvo since June 15, 1946 until his passing on July 4, 2009. Mrs. Calvo was a bookkeeper, Junior Accountant, and longtime parishioner on Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wethersfield. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting, crocheting and cryptograms. Mary is survived by her devoted daughter, Carol-Ann Reisert and husband Dennis of Chalmers, Indiana; son-in-law, Martin Ladner and wife Stephanie of Montgomery, Alabama; grandchildren James Reisert and wife Aimee, Amanda Sorensen and husband Kyle, Ashley Reisert and spouse Jesse, Kira Darlage and husband Colby, Mary-Lorraine Cox and husband Michael, Vincent Ladner and spouse Joshua, and Michelle Salery; great-grandchildren, Evan, Matthew, Emma, Blake, Thatcher, Matthew, Miranda, Madison, Andrew, Lana, and Raymond, as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, Mrs. Calvo was predeceased by her daughter, Ann-Marie Ladner and three brothers, Carl, Ralph, and John Santangelo. A graveside service is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, One Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield, Section M.
