

Mary Christine ""Chrissy"" (Farragher) Panioto, 87, of Wethersfield, beloved wife for 65 years of Sebastian Angelo Panioto, passed away peacefully at Riverside Health & Rehab Center on Wednesday, (March 14, 2012) with her son Mark and his wife Reverie at her bedside. Born in South Boston on December 21, 1924, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Murphy) Farragher and was the eldest of eleven children. Chrissy had a strong work ethic and in order to help provide for her family and shower them with extras she worked as a waitress for many years at various restaurants on the Berlin Turnpike, notably Tina's Diner, Italian Kitchen and the Red Coach Grill. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and nothing was more important to her than her family. Known to all who loved her dearly, ""Chrissie"", ""Mary"", ""GrandMary"", ""Ma,"" or ""Auntie Chrissy"" was proud of her Irish heritage, her ""Southie"" roots, and most especially her three sons. In addition to her devoted, loving soul mate, her husband Sebastian, Chrissy is survived by her sons, Mark E. Panioto and his wife Reverie of Bristol, and Jeffrey J. Panioto and his wife Ivette of Fox Island, WA; her daughter-in-law Cindy Panioto of Canton; her adored grandchildren, Mathew Panioto of Canton, Christina Sayer and her husband Christopher of Canton, Lauren Rosella and her husband Kevin of Clayton, NC, and Rosalie Panioto of Bristol; three cherished great-grandchildren, Bennett Sayer, Kadyn Alyce Rosella and Cailey Grace Callnan; and her siblings, Peter Farragher and his wife Bitsey, Dennis Farragher and his wife Janet, and her baby sister, Joanie Sands, all of Boston, MA. Chrissy was kind, very generous, compassionate and had a wonderful sense of humor. She will be sorely missed by a large family of cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends and extended relatives. She was predeceased by her eldest son, Christopher Panioto, her brothers John, James, and Kevin and her sisters Annabel, Claire, Franny and Pauline.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 5 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Family and friends may call prior to the service, from 3-5 p.m. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
