

Mary E. (LaRosa) Franco, of Wethersfield, beloved wife for 58 years of the late Nicholas L. Franco, passed away peacefully on Friday (March 13, 2015) at her home surrounded by her family. Born on June 10, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Sebastian and Lucy LaRosa. She was a graduate of Bulkeley High School and lived in Hartford until moving to Wethersfield in 1955 with her family. She was retired from CG Aetna in Hartford and was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. Mary loved to play cards, was an excellent cook and one of her most favorite things to do was to cook and entertain her family and friends. A beloved mother, grandmother and aunt, Mary is survived by her three devoted children, Carole A. Franco of Bolton, Dr. Kenneth L. and Jody Franco of Atlanta and Dr. Wayne P. and Sandy Franco of Portland, her beloved grandson, Jonathan L. Franco of Atlanta, who was the joy of her life, and several nieces and nephews who adored her. In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was predeceased by her two brothers, Santo J. LaRosa and Nicholas A. LaRosa. She was a beautiful and loving woman and will be forever missed by all. The funeral service is Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. from the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. James Church, 767 Elm St., Rocky Hill. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
