Mary A. (Greco) Gagliardi

Mary A. (Greco) Gagliardi, 82, of Bloomfield, beloved wife of the late Ralph Peter Joseph Gagliardi, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 4, 2016, with her loving family by her side. Born in Hartford on December 5, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Raffaele “Ralph” and Anna (Cicherchia) Greco. Mary grew up in the Front Street area of Hartford and was a graduate of Bulkeley High School. She worked at Travelers for many years. Her greatest joy in life by far was her family. There was nothing she enjoyed more than cooking and being surrounded by her family for traditional Italian dinners. A loving mother, sister, aunt and great-aunt, Mary will be dearly missed by her son, Peter Ralph Gagliardi of Bloomfield; brothers, Angelo Greco of Wethersfield and Anthony “Tony” Greco and wife Deanna of Hartford; five dear nieces and nephews, Marilyn Greco of Florida, Rob Greco and wife Lee Ann of Rocky Hill, Sharon Greco of Florida, Michael Greco and wife Wendy of East Hartford and Paul Greco of Wethersfield and 11 adored great-nieces and great-nephews, Bobby, Jr., Michael, Ashley, Leo, Andrew, Jordan, Josh, Aniyah, Anthony, Hayden and Angelo. Mary was sadly predeceased by her beloved son, Ralph Anthony Gagliardi; her sister, Stella Greco and her sister-in-law, Joyce Greco. Special thanks to Dr. Santo Buccheri for his care and compassion.

Funeral services will begin on Friday (January 8) at 9 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, 53 Capitol Ave., Hartford. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
