Mary Jane Roney Madigan

Mary Jane (Roney) Madigan, 69, of Wethersfield, beloved wife of Dr. John C. Madigan, Jr., for 44 years, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2015 at home with her family by her side. Mary Jane was born on June 27, 1945 in Buffalo, NY, and was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Mary A. (Miller) Roney. Mary Jane graduated from Nazareth College and received her master's degree from Hunter College. She taught language and hearing impaired students for many years in New York, Maryland and Connecticut. She was an enthusiastic golfer and a member of the Wethersfield Country Club. She loved summers at the Jersey Shore and was an avid skier. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Mary Jane will be missed by her husband John, her son John D. Madigan and his wife Cheryl and their two children Acadia and Vivian, and her son Conor F. Madigan. She is also survived by two brothers, Robert Roney and his wife Sheila, Richard Roney and his wife Wendy, and three sisters, Patricia Morin, Margie Hughes and her husband Steven, and Jean Orr and her husband Donal. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Inurnment at Cedar Hill Cemetery will be private.
