Michele "Mike" Simonetta

Michele “Mike” Simonetta, passed away peacefully Saturday May 3, 2025 with his loving family by his side. Mike was born in Ievoli, Calabria Italy and came to the United States after residing in Melbourne, Australia. He was the son of the late Raffaele and Luigina Simonetta and the son-in-law of the late Emilio and Alzira Colaiacovo.

He was predeceased by his brother, Bruno; his sisters, Assunta and Angelina and sister-in-law, Maria D’Angelo.

Mike leaves behind in deepest sorrow his loving wife of 56 years, Delia Simonetta; his sons, Gregory Simonetta and Michael Simonetta and his wife Lindsay, along with his grandson, Emilio. He also leaves his brothers, Luigi, Vittorio and Adriano; his sister, Gina; his brother-in-law, Pasquale Colaiacovo and his wife Christine, as well as his nephew, Alex Colaiacovo; his nieces, Patricia Deperry and her husband Brian and Lolita O’Brien and her husband Robert and many, many more.

The family will receive friends at the Mass of Christian Burial that will take place on Thursday, May 8 at 11a.m. at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, 494 New Britain Avenue, Hartford. The entombment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. There will be no calling hours. The D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, Wethersfield has been entrusted with the arrangements.
