
Nina Mary (Pagano) Forgetta, 81, of Hartford, beloved wife of Michael Forgetta, Sr., died Wednesday, (January 4, 2006). She was the daughter of the late Jack and Carmella Pagano and was a graduate of Bulkeley High School in Hartford and the Connecticut Institute of Hairdressing. She retired from Hartford Fire Insurance Company in 1985 after 20 years of service. Known as ""Nina the Cake Lady"" she enjoyed making and creating beautiful wedding, anniversary and birthday cakes. She served as Past President of VFW Post 254 Ladies Auxiliary and was a current member of Auxiliary VFW 9929. She enjoyed selling Avon products and was a member of the President Circle. Besides her husband, Michael of 60 years, she leaves four children, Daniel Forgetta and his wife, Terry of Wethersfield; Lydia Forgetta-Sheffield of Guilford; Aggie and Frank Dorio of Simsbury; and Michael Forgetta, Jr. of Glastonbury. She leaves two grandchildren, Alisa Forgetta and Matthew Dorio. She also leaves two sisters, Linda Bunnell of Northford and Lucy Scholerman of Oregon; and many nieces and nephews. Nina was predeceased by her sister, Frances Della Rocco. The family would like to thank Rodina, Dodie and Lydia of the Visiting Nurse Association for their care and friendship over the past year. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, January 10th at 10 a.m. at St. Luke's Church in Hartford. There are no calling hours.
