

Pasquale Cannata, 74, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of Anna (Iamonaco) Cannata, passed away Friday March 30, 2012. He was born August 12, 1937 in Siracusa, Sicily, the son of the late Salvatore and Josephine Cannata-Italia. Pasquale, his wife, and his family owned and operated the Portland Restaurant for many years. He had a passion for his grandchildren, and as an avid fisherman loved to take them fishing. He also enjoyed watching them playing sports, dancing or just walking them to school. Including Anna, his wife of 50 years, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Salvatore and Laura Cannata of Wethersfield and Joseph and Stella Cannata of Rocky Hill, two brothers, Salvatore Italia and his wife Enza of Middletown and Marc Italia. He is also survived by his four grandchildren; Pasquale, Anna, Christian and Ashley. Funeral services will leave Monday April 2nd at 9:15 a.m. from the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Luke Church, 66 Bolton St., Hartford. Entombment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral chapel in Wethersfield.
