Patricia Hanson

Patricia A. (Gorman) Hanson, 87, Wethersfield, beloved wife of the late Gilbert Hanson, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2016 surrounded by her family. Pat was born on March 14, 1929 in Central Falls, RI and was the daughter of the late Francis and Mabel (Tyrrell) Gorman. Pat was a strong willed woman with a true zest for life, but her strong will would never compare to the kindness she shared with everyone she knew. Pat welcomed family and friends into her home and was the true hostess to all her guests. Pat was a member of the Wethersfield Country Club's Nine Hole League where she won several championships. She loved her silk flowers that adorned her house, both inside and out always looking beautiful. She also loved decorating her home for the holidays with Christmas Eve being her favorite. Her annual Christmas Eve tradition was dinner then each person was allowed to open one gift only. She and her husband loved to dance and were known as the original ""wedding crashers"" going to weddings just for the opportunity to dance. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she will be missed by her son Gary Hanson and his wife Laura of Wethersfield and her daughter Karen Pacholski and her husband Edward of Colchester. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Nicholas Hanson, Audrey Hanson, Heather Pacholski and Kristine Pacholski. In addition to her husband and parents, Pat was predeceased by her brothers Francis Gorman, Raymond Gorman and her sisters Rita Lappin and Arlene Marrcott. Funeral services will held on Thursday, June 9th at 9:15 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Incarnation Church, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Burial will be at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Road, Exeter, RI. Relatives and friends may visit the family, Wednesday evening from 4 to 7 at the funeral chapel.
