Paul A. Benoit

Paul Benoit, 96, of Wethersfield, beloved husband for 72 years of Joyce (Salvadori) Benoit, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 22, 2025. Born in Woonsocket, RI on May 24, 1929, he was the son of the late Arthur and Maria (Meister) Benoit. Paul was a 1947 graduate of Hartford Public High School, where he ran for the cross country team and later was on the Hartford High Hall of Fame Committee. He worked in planning/scheduling for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for 39 years, retiring in 1989. He was a longtime season ticket holder of both the men’s and women’s UConn basketball teams. Paul was an avid skier and played tennis well into his 80s. He was a member of the South Catholic High Men’s Club and the Toastmaster’s Club. Paul loved to tell jokes and enjoyed camping with his family on Cape Cod. The family would like to thank the staff at Autumn Lake Healthcare in New Britain for the care and compassion shown to Paul while in their care.

A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Paul will be forever missed by his devoted wife Joyce; two sons, Mark Benoit and wife Noreen and Kenneth Benoit; two step-grandchildren, Shannon Jones and husband Sean Thompson and Clayton Jones and three step-great-grandchildren, Michael Paquette, Alex Paquette and Collin Jones. He is also survived by his nephews, Arthur Salvadori and wife Jaime and Richard Salvadori and wife Tara, as well as several cousins and extended family members.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 2 at 10 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
