Paul A. Montinieri, Sr. born July 19, 1930 was reunited with his wife, Marguerite on November 15, 2014. Born in Hartford he was the son of the late Paul and Marianna (Rubera) Montinieri. He was a 1949 graduate of Bulkeley High School, Hartford. An accomplished pianist, Paul entertained friends and family over the years, especially at Christmas. Following his service as an Officer in the US Navy during the Korean War, Paul married Marguerite, the love of his life in 1954. A devoted husband Paul found joy in his marriage. He was an exceptionally caring and giving husband. This was matched by his enormous love for family; his daughter, Marisa Montinieri and son, Paul Montinieri, Jr. and his wife, Julie all of Wethersfield; his grandchildren, Raymond Esposito and wife, Samantha, Marisa Sullivan and husband, Brian, Meredith and Michelle Montinieri and Bailey Julian. His great grandchildren include Oliver Esposito and soon-to-be-born, Archer Esposito as well as Neil and Finian Sullivan. Paul brought an abundance of joy to all his family. He was an accomplished professional. As Vice-President of South End Bank, he brought the true essence of personal service to the South End. Paul finished his career with the Department of Housing and Urban Development, providing assistance and personal support to the needy and overseeing dozens of property development projects that enhanced the lives of many. All that knew him in these roles fondly recall his generous nature, personal warmth and extraordinary dedication to service. Paul was best known for his kindness, optimism, ever present smile and genuine interest in his friends and family. Many came to know him as a lifelong friend. Paul was ""old school"" -friendship and a handshake meant everything. He filled the lives of family and friends with his musical talent. He especially enjoyed driving while listing to Tony Bennett and Pavarotti. Some of his most cherished times were commiserating with friends over coffee, especially with his son, Paul. A trip to the Casino with his beloved wife, Marguerite and daughter, Marisa, a lobster dinner with family and a stroll on the beach were his fondest memories. Paul also leaves his brother, Joseph Montinieri of Hartford and many nieces and nephews including the daughter of his beloved sister, Vincenza, Paula Massa. He will be truly missed by our family. The family wishes to extend a grateful thank you to the nursing staff at Glastonbury Health Care. Donations in Paul's memory may be made to JDRF, 20 Batterson Park Road, 3rd Floor, Farmington, Ct. 06032.
