Peter Anthony Bonee

Peter Anthony Bonee, 82, of Wethersfield, died Monday, (October 13, 2008) at Hartford Hospital after a long illness with his family by his side. The beloved husband of Marie (Russo) Bonee for 57 years, Peter was born in Hartford on March 13, 1926, a son of the late Judge John L. and Helen (Egan) Bonee. A U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, Peter attended local schools and graduated from Wesleyan University where he was an active alumnus. He furthered education with an M.A. and advanced degree from the University of Connecticut. He taught The Gifted Class for 28 years at Naylor School in Hartford. Besides his cherished wife, Marie, survivors include a devoted daughter, Marabeth and her husband Michael Fitzgerald of Wethersfield; a son Peter of San Jose, CA; and a brother Atty John L. Bonee of Hartford. Peter also leaves two grandchildren, Sean and Cherie Fitzgerald; many special nephews, nieces, relatives and dear friends. Peter was predeceased by his brother Joseph Bonee. Relatives and friends are invited to D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield on Saturday, October 18, for a visitation from 9:30-10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 581 Silas Deane Hwy., Wethersfield. Internment with Military Honors will follow in the family plot at Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
