Richard E. Cooke

Richard E. Cooke, 87, of Hartford, passed away on Thursday (May 16, 2013). Born on September 15, 1925 in Hartford, he was the beloved son of the late Alfred E. and Madeline (Uricchio) Cooke. He graduated from St. Peter’s Grammar School and from Bulkeley High School in 1943. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Trinity College and his Master of Science degree from UCONN. Richard proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. Prior to his retirement in 1992 he was employed as a supervising biochemist for 34 years in the Laboratory division for the State of CT. Richard enjoyed spending summers at his vacation home in Westbrook. He will be missed by his many dear cousins and close friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday May 20th at 11 a.m. in St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, 494 New Britain Ave., Hartford. Burial with military honors will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours are Monday morning from 9 -10:15 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
