

Richard J. Gianetti, Sr., 80, of Wethersfield, beloved husband for 49 years of the late Jacqueline (Boains) Gianetti, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 12, 1934 in Hartford, son of the late Dominick and Alice (Fitzgibbon) Gianetti. He graduated from Wethersfield High School and served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea during the Korean Conflict. Richard was a member of Wethersfield Fire Department Company One. He lived in Winter Springs, Florida for many years before relocating back to Wethersfield. He was formerly employed at Monaco Ford, Hughes Brothers, AM International, and most recently at Sports Authority. He is survived by his two children, Richard Jr. of Wethersfield and Todd and his wife Nancy (Clark) of Marlborough and their children, Zachary and Joshua. Richard Sr. is also survived by his sisters, Marilyn Fithian of Plainville and Patricia Egan and husband Michael of Wethersfield, along with many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday (January 16) at 10 a.m. in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Hwy., Wethersfield. Burial with military honors will follow in Village Cemetery, Wethersfield. There are no calling hours.
