

Dr. Robbins Wolcott Barstow, Jr., of Avery Heights, Hartford, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, (November 7, 2010). He was 91. He and his wife of 68 years, Margaret, lived at their home ""Fairacre"" in Wethersfield for 60 years. A man of immense love, integrity, and devotion, he lived every moment to its fullest and best. His wisdom, skill, and passion were expressed in many arenas of service. He was devoted to his family, advocated for teachers, education and civil rights, saved whales, pioneered innovative home movies, inspired multitudes, and followed his bliss. A lifelong amateur movie producer, his family film ""Disneyland Dream"" was selected in 2009 by the National Library of Congress for its permanent collection. He leaves his wife, Margaret, his three children and their spouses, Cedar and Ren, David and Linda, and Daniel and Eva; his two grandchildren and spouses, Suzanna and Daniel Cooper, and Geoffrey and Eliza, parents of Rob's great granddaughter, Margaret. He also leaves his nieces Joy Anne (and her mother Eleanor), Victoria, Robyn, nephew Tony, and extended family including Shawna, Eric and Robyn. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Robbins and Dorothy Barstow, and his brothers, Paul and John Barstow. We will miss him deeply and are filled with gratitude for his love and life. The Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, (November 13, 2010) at 11 a.m. at First Church of Christ, 250 Main St., Old Wethersfield.
