

Robert I. ""Bob"" Fanelli, 86, of Rocky Hill and Delray Beach, FL, beloved husband of Mafalda (Ferraro) Fanelli for 65 years died Thursday (June 29, 2006) at Hartford Hospital. He was born October 24, 1919 in Hartford and was the son of the late Salvatore and Rose (Ladone) Fanelli. He was a graduate of Bulkeley High School, Class of 1938. Bob owned and operated the Wyllys Shoppe and Liquor Store in Hartford for over 50 years. He also owned and operated the Interstate Package Store in Rocky Hill for 20 years, retiring several years ago. He was an avid golfer, bowler and a staunch Boston Red Sox Fan. A longtime parishioner of St. James Church he resided in Rocky Hill for 55 years. Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Besides his wife, he is survived by two loving daughters, Sandra Ginley and her husband, Jack of South Portland, ME and Barbara Fowlds and her husband, Sid of Yorktown Heights, NY, a sister, Marie Gosselin of Newington, his brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Anne Fanelli of Rocky Hill, grandchildren, Barbara Ginley and her husband, Bradford MacCachran, Brian Ginley and his wife, Danelle Chereck, Caroline Ginley and her husband, Michael Rogers, Christopher Fowlds and his wife, Kirsten, and Carrie Fowlds and her fiancée, Kenneth Shelley, great grandchildren, Cyrus and Tobey MacCachran and Samuel Rogers, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Frank and Vi Ferraro and Albert and Frances Ferraro, as well as many nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends. Funeral service will be Monday at 9 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. James Church, Rocky Hill. The burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Calling hours are Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, Wethersfield.
