

Roger O. Anderson, 85, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of the late Harriet (White) Anderson, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 16, 2015. Born in Manchester on July 9, 1930, he was the son of the late Frank and Ann (Woods) Anderson. He was a 1948 graduate of Manchester High School and earned his Associate’s Degree from the University of Hartford. Roger was a proud U.S. Air Force veteran, earning the rank of Airman First Class and working as part of the ground crew for sabre jets while stationed in Okinawa during the Korean War. He was an accounting manager at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, retiring after 39 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Kawanis Club and enjoyed bowling. Roger was involved with the Wethersfield High School Band and was known as the “fruit man” because he established the band’s famous annual fruit drive. He especially enjoyed vacationing in Wells, ME with his family. A loving and devoted father and grandfather, he will be dearly missed by his two children, David Anderson and wife Carol of Buxton, ME and Morgan Carroll and husband Sydney of Wethersfield and his adored grandson, Jason J. Roy of Wethersfield. Roger is also survived by his sister, Barbara Anderson of Manchester and his niece, Jane Anderson of Nashville, TN. He was predeceased by his brother, Warren Anderson.
Funeral services will be held on Friday (November 20) at 11:30 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Burial with military honors will follow in Village Cemetery, Wethersfield. Family and friends may call on Friday prior to the service, from 10 -11:30 a.m. at the funeral chapel.
