Rose (Pandozzi) Frascarelli, 95, of Rocky Hill, beloved wife for 56 years of the late John Frascarelli, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. She was born on May 31, 1928 to the late Arthur and Josephine (Bailardo) Pandozzi. Rose was educated in the Hartford schools and graduated from Hartford Public High School in 1946. Upon graduation, she was offered the job as secretary to the director of agency administration at Phoenix Mutual Life Insurance Company. She kept that job for eight years, enjoyed working there and became involved with many company activities.
Rose loved the beach, the sun, the sand, and especially swimming in the salt water. She spent many happy summers on Old Colony Beach in Old Lyme. Theater was another one of her interests; she joined some of the little theater groups in the area, including The Mark Twain Masquers, The Oval In The Grove in Farmington, The Rocky Hill Theater Guild and loved being able to “trod the boards.”
In the early 40s, Rose became a member of the Guy Hedlund Radio Players, a group that broadcasted weekly shows on Station WOR in Hartford. In addition to her accomplishments, passions and the raising and caring of her family, Rose also served as the President of the St. Patrick-St. Anthony School PTA.
Rose and her husband, John, were very involved in their childrens' upbringing. They supported all of their school activities, whether it was sports, theater or musical performances. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest pleasures. She will forever be missed by her four children, Arthur Frascarelli and his wife Judith of Colchester, Teresa Johnson and her husband Ted of Cromwell, John Frascarelli and his wife Julie of Waterford, and Joseph Frascarelli and his wife Beth of Middletown; her seven adored grandchildren, Anthony, Michael, David, Andrew, Benjamin, Natalie and Amanda and her four cherished great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Finnian, Filippe and Simone. In addition to her husband and parents, Rose was predeceased by her sister, Carmel Gregg, her infant brother, Callistus and her daughter-in-law, Simone.
A very heartfelt thanks to her very close friends and long-time neighbors, Andrea Graffam, Patrick McKenna and Evelyn Osowski. The family would also like to acknowledge the wonderful care and compassion of the Middlesex Hospice team, and especially her at- home caregiver for the past year, Velma “Belle” Rankins.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday (September 24) at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. The funeral procession will depart from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel at 10:30 a.m. on Monday (September 25) for an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Church (St. Josephine Bakhita Parish) 767 Elm St., Rocky Hill.
