

Rose (Tralongo) Mansella, 86, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. Born in Hartford on June 8, 1939, Rose was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Lucia (Randone) Tralongo and grew up on Front Street. She married her one true love, Paul Mansella, and moved to Tolland, where they lived and raised their family. Upon retirement, they moved to The Villages in Florida, where they learned how to swim and play golf. After nine wonderful, fun-filled years in Florida, they moved back to Connecticut to be with their family.
Predeceased by her husband, Paul, she leaves behind her daughter, Maria Tata and son-in-law Sebastian of Ellington; her son, Frank Mansella and daughter-in-law Michele of Coventry and their five beloved grandchildren, Anthony and Lydia Tata and Sophia, Joey and Julia Mansella. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends.
Whether over a glass of wine, a Manhattan or an ice cream cone, Rose enjoyed sharing good times with family and friends. Her hobbies included acting, dancing, cross-country skiing, golfing, swimming, walking and going to the beach.
Rose enjoyed her time working in the Tolland School system as a reading aide at Hicks Memorial and as a secretary at Parker Elementary School, as well as in the Tolland Recreation office. She was an active member of St. Matthews Couples Club, where she traveled to places like Hawaii, Bermuda and Cape Cod, making lifelong friends.
Rose loved working with children and enjoyed seeing them reach their full potential. She had a zest for life and enjoyed it to the fullest. Rose was a bright light, full of energy, and always having a good time. She will be dearly missed by all but at peace with God and reunited with those who went before her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 2 at 10 a.m. at St. Bernard Church of Blessed Sacrament Parish, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Rockville. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. Inurnment will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield.
