Roy Joseph Demma Sr.

Roy was born in Hartford, CT to the late Agustino and Antoinette (Petruzziello) Demma.

Prior to his retirement in 1998, he had been employed by the Town of Berlin as a senior mechanic.

Among his many passions, his love of cooking was specializing in many traditional Italian dishes of his youth which were passed down to his children and grandchildren.

Roy’s most joyous times were spent embracing his family at the many gatherings. He enjoyed watching the progression of their growth into fine young men and women.

He will be remembered for his strength, his generous heart, his kindness and infectious smile by all the lives he touched.

Roy will be dearly missed by his children Roy J. Demma Jr. and his partner Cheryl Joseffy of Berlin, CT., Nancy Carifa and her husband Franklin of Berlin, CT., Michael Demma and his wife Marlene of Southington, CT., his sweet grandchildren Jason Carifa, Kevin Carifa and his spouse Arlene, Shaun Carifa and his spouse Sarah, Nicole Natsisky and her spouse Brian, Lindsay Guisto and her spouse Michael, Michael Demma and his fiancée Jen, Christopher Joseffy and his precious great grandchildren Jack Carifa, Benjamin Carifa, Colton Carifa, Magdalena Carifa, Alessandra Carifa, Evan Natsisky, Olivia Schug and Alexia Guisto.

He is also survived by his brother Angelo Demma of Lehigh Acres, Florida and many of his beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Josephine Leist, Philip Demma, Augustine Demma and Anthony Demma.

His family would also like to thank the many special friends and the dedicated staff of the Jerome Home in New Britain, CT, where he spent the last six years of his life for their friendship, continued support, kindness and compassion.

A funeral service to honor Roy’s life will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 11 am at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield, CT 06109.
