

Salvatore M. ""Tutti"" Montineri, 88, of Hartford, beloved husband of the late Lorraine (Cerasoli) Montineri, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his children on May 2, 2015. He was born September 20, 1926 in Hartford, the son of the late Antonio and Emanuela (Scata) Montineri. Salvatore was a proud U.S. Navy veteran serving during WWII in both the Pacific and European theaters. While in the Navy, he participated in the sport of boxing to entertain the troops and never lost a match. Prior to his retirement, Salvatore was the owner and operator of Tuffy’s Service Station in South Windsor. His love for horses led him to own several race horses. He also enjoyed dancing, singing, and playing the trumpet and organ. Salvatore will be best remembered for his fun-loving nature, hard work, and love and devotion to his family. He is survived by a daughter, Mary M. DeBellis and her husband, Richard, of West Hartford; a son, Michael S. Montineri of Hartford; seven special grandchildren, Michael Montineri Jr., Michelle Montineri and her partner, Akeen Bryan, all of New Britain, Michael DeBellis and his wife, Kelly, of Plainville, Beth Anne DeBellis of West Hartford, David DeBellis of Boston, MA, and Lindsey DeBellis and John DeBellis, both of West Hartford; four adored great-grandchildren, Justin, Emily, and Mason DeBellis of Plainville, Tayvion-Vito Bryan of New Britain; a sister Vincenza DeLucco of Berlin, a brother-in-law, Joseph Cerasoli and his wife MaryAnn of East Montpelier, VT and several nieces and nephews. Including Lorraine, his wife of 60 years, Salvatore was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Montineri. The family wishes to thank the staff of Right at Home for their compassionate assistance and especially to his caregiver, Lillian Garcia, for her love, devotion, and excellent care. Funeral services will leave Thursday, May 7th at 9:15 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Lawrence O'Toole Church, Hartford. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
