Sylvia (paixao) Silva

Hilda (Paixao) Silva, 88, of Wethersfield, beloved wife of the late Americo 'Mac' Silva, died peacefully on Saturday (January 19, 2008). She was born November 29, 1919 in New Bedford, MA and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Caroline (Louro) Paixao. She lived in Wethersfield most of her life and was retired from the former Sage-Allen Department Store. She was a member of the Portuguese Club, Hartford. She is survived by her sister, Natalie Souza of South Dartmouth, MA; brother-in-law Armand Silva and his wife Evelyn of FL; nieces and nephews, Jeffrey J. Oliveira of Massachusetts, Gary D. Oliveira of Wethersfield, Carol Jones, Judy Theodore and Robert Armand Silva, all of Florida, and several grandnieces and grandnephews. Hilda also leaves special friends, John Vieira, Cheryl Peck and Isdra Leon. She will be sadly missed by her loving family and friends. She was predeceased by a sister, Estrella (Paixao) Oliveira and brother-in-law, Sylvester 'Sy' Oliveira; brother-in-law, David Souza Jr. and a nephew David P. Souza. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 24 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth, MA. The burial will follow in South Dartmouth Cemetery. Calling hour will be Thursday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Aubertine-Lopes Funeral Home, 129 Allen Street, New Bedford, MA.
