

Theresa “Ava” (Colella) DiPersio, 76, of Rocky Hill, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, April 20, 2017. Born in Pratola Peligna, province of L’Aquila, Italy on April 22, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Laurina (Ramunno) Colella. Ava worked for many years at Aetna and also at Rocky Hill High School. She was a huge fan of Elvis Presley. More than anything, she was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by her three children, Anna Lombari of Oxford, Caroline Shea and husband Matt of Rocky Hill and Salvatore DiPersio of Wethersfield and her four adored grandchildren who brought her so much joy, Anthony Lombari, Jr., Gabriela Lombari, Jillian Shea and Jack Shea. She is also survived by her former husband, Robert DiPersio; her sister, Sylvia Faraci and many nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Lucy Palazzo; son-in-law, Anthony Lombari and brother-in-law, Salvatore Faraci.
Funeral services will be Monday (April 24) at 9 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Hwy., Wethersfield. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
