Theresa (dias) Milhomens

Theresa (Dias) Milhomens, 92, of Cromwell, beloved wife of the late Joseph P. Milhomens, passed away Saturday, (March 6, 2010) at her home in Cromwell. She was born November 22, 1917, in West Wareham, MA, the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Monteiro) Dias. Prior to her retirement in 1979, Theresa was employed by Aetna Life and Casualty. She enjoyed crocheting and tag sales, but her greatest joy in life was her family. Monday mornings were reserved for going to breakfast with all the family members that could make it. She is survived by a son, Manuel Milhomens and his wife Maria Ines of Bloomfield; four daughters, Maria Jose Petrella and her husband Gino of Vernon, Lucia Pappalardo and her husband Anthony of Englewood, FL, Liliana Rinaldi and her husband Antonio of Rocky Hill and Maria Fatima Corso and her husband John of Cromwell; her daughter-in-law, Irene Milhomens of Newington; a sister-in-law, Maria Jose Vieira of Newington;14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by two sons, Joseph D. Milhomens and Joao Milhomens; and three sisters, Agnes Leite, Gloria Oliveira and Virginia Coute. Funeral services will leave Thursday, March 11, at 9 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Augustine's Church, 10 Campfield Ave., Hartford. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
