Thomas Tommy"" Carl Steidel

Thomas “Tommy” Carl Steidel, 52, of Manchester and formerly of Wethersfield, beloved son of Eleanor “Ellie” J. (MacDonald) Steidel and the late William Russell Steidel, died suddenly on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Hartford on October 6, 1964, he grew up in Wethersfield and was a 1983 graduate of Wethersfield High School. He was formerly employed by the State of CT and was presently working at J’s Restaurant and Bar, Washington St., Hartford. Tommy was a diehard New York Yankees fan and Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed spending time at the casinos. A loving son, brother and uncle, he will be dearly missed by his sister, Linda Ann Solomon and husband Robert of NC; brother, Christopher Steidel of CT and sister, Amy Jeanne Steidel of NC; nephew, Dylan Solomon and nieces, Haley Solomon and Alexandria Stevens. Tommy is also survived by his aunt and uncle, Barbara and Dennis Lindsey; cousins, Sharon, David and Michael and longtime best friends who were like family, Susie, Benji, Mikey and Mikey, Jr., as well as all his co-workers and friends at J’s. Besides his dad, he was predeceased by his longtime best friend, Joey.

Funeral service will be Saturday (October 29) at 11 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 300 Main Street, Wethersfield. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tommy’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
