

Umberto ""Donato"" Lorusso, 79, of Wethersfield, beloved husband for 55 years of Lucia (Iannone) Lorusso, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, October 4, 2015. Born in Bari, Italy on May 27, 1936, he was the son of the late Michele and Maria (DiCarne) Lorusso. Umberto worked for many years at First Brands, which was formerly Union Carbide, and retired from Metal Dynamics. He was a member of the Wethersfield Senior Center and enjoyed Wii bowling as well as real bowling. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he will be dearly missed by his devoted wife Lucia; two sons, Michael Lorusso and his wife Maria Fatima of Newington and Nick Lorusso and his wife Eva of Chelsea, AL; his daughter, Maria Garzone and her husband Peter of Rocky Hill and his ten adored grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Nicola Lorusso and two sisters, Rosa Gallo and Anna Caragiulo, all of Italy, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends in Italy, England and United States. He was predeceased by his oldest brother, Franco Lorusso. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday (October 10) at 9 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Hwy., Wethersfield. Everyone is invited to go directly to the church. Entombment will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
