Vincent D’Avirro, 83, of Rocky Hill, widower of beloved wife of 52 years, Josephine (Sardo) D’Avirro, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025. Born in Campodipietra, in the province of Campobasso, Italy, on June 30, 1942, he was the son of the late Giovanni Salvatore and Angela Maria D’Avirro. Vincent proudly served in the U.S. Army National Guard and prior to his retirement was employed by the Internal Revenue Service for 41 years. Vincent was an avid reader and loved working on trigonometry and calculus problems to keep his mind sharp. He was a wonderful husband and father who will be missed immensely by many but mostly by his dedicated and devoted daughter, Lori D’Avirro.
A time of visitation will be held Monday, August 4, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. concluding with a prayer service. Funeral service and entombment with military honors in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield, will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Vincent’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
