Billy Blair Smith

Billy Blair Smith, 87, of Verona, passed away February 28, 2018 at Augusta Health. He was born on November 27, 1930 in Harrisonburg and was the son of the late J. Wilmer and Nellie Harlow Smith. Billy graduated in 1947 from McGaheysville High School. He was employed for thirty eight years at Foley Motors, now known as Dick Myers, he retired at age 72. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and was an avid sports fan; he enjoyed senior Bingo, and the Duckpin bowling league. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Waldean Dove Smith on August 18, 1975. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Moats Smith of Verona; his sons, Gregory A. Smith & wife, Kimberly, Kevin S. Smith all of Harrisonburg, Jeffrey K. Smith and wife, April, of Weyers Cave, Mannuel B. Propst and wife, Mary C. of Weyers Cave; a daughter, Tammy Tyson and husband, Jeff of Staunton; grandchildren, Drew and Maddie Smith, Heather Marshall and Bethany Propst; great-grandchildren, Nathan Shiley, Makayla Saunders, and Garrett Marshall; his brothers, Dickie D. Smith of McGaheysville and John W. Smith of Charlottesville; an aunt, Ruby Wagner of Pennsylvania; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm, Monday, March 5, 2018 at Lindsey Funeral Home in Weyers Cave with Pastor Wayne Wright officiating. Burial will be at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
