He was born on April 6, 1965 and is the son of Betty Jean Shifflett Palmer of Alexandria, and the late Roy Walter Palmer.
Roy was employed with Oakland Farms for more than 20 years.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his former wife, Regina Payne Palmer of Weyers Cave; stepsons, Evan Jason Barker and Steven Joshua Barker both of Bridgewater; stepdaughters, Melissa Ann Rhea (Nick) and Brittnee Denise Barker (Shawn) all of Harrisonburg; grandchildren, Trenton Buchanan, Magdalena Anais Barker and Felicity Harper Marie Chan; an uncle, Earl Palmer and cousins, Eugene and Kevin Ellis; and many other extended family members.
Honoring his wishes he will be cremated and there will be no services.
