

Daphne Iris Mary Burke, formerly of Weymouth, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2013 at the age of 93 in Orchard View Nursing Home, New Brunswick, with all her children by her side. Daphne was born in Deal, England to the late Harry and Elsie (Anscombe) Streader. She worked as a nurse and met her husband Lloyd Burke when he served overseas during World War II. She moved to Canada shortly after the war to marry Lloyd and together they had five children. She is survived by sons Andy (Terry), David (Diane); daughters Susan Lombard, Kathy (Ken) Babin; sister Enid Callaghan; sister in law Elsie Streader; grandchildren Jeremy Burke (Melissa), Noelle Burke (Ron), Tammy Adams, Kim Lombard Thorne (Kevin), Liette Lombard Deveau (Earl), Krista Babin (Travis), Kraig Babin (Amanda); great grandchildren Jericho, Emebet, Tarikua, Eli, Laura, Joshua, Noah, Izaac ; nieces and nephews. Daphne was predeceased by her husband Lloyd, infant daughter Jean; twin sister Joyce in infancy; brothers Geoff & Don Streader, sister in law Phyll Streader, brother in law Joe Callaghan, son in law Phillip Lombard. By request family visitation only.
Funeral service to be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 23rd, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Rev. Henry Smolenaars officiating. A memorial mass will be held in England. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Weymouth. In lieu of flowers donations to Saint Joseph’s Cemetery fund would be appreciated.
