

The Reverend Donald Clare Ruggles Died January 21, 2018 at Tideview Terrace in Digby. He was born July 28, 1936 in Weymouth. He was the son of the late Clare and May Ruggles. He grew up in Weymouth and then attended The University of Kings College. He was ordained an Anglican priest in 1961. He served in Fort George (Quebec), Edinburgh (Scotland), returned to Nova Scotia to the parishes of Bible Hill, Sydney Mines, Bridgetown, Liverpool and Halifax. He retired in 1998 and moved back to Weymouth.
He is survived by his wife Miriam; son David (Jolene), Kingston, Ont; daughter Nan, Clam Harbour, NS; grandchildren Gavin and Nicola; step-granddaughter Ali, and brother Earle (Mary) Caledon, Ont.
Funeral service will be at the Church of St. Peter and St. Thomas, Weymouth North on January 26 at 2:00 pm with The Reverend Laura McCue and Archbishop Arthur Peters officiating. Family committal will take place on a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Don’s memory to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or to the Church of St. Peter and St. Thomas, Weymouth North.
