

Bell (Barr), Dora Alida – age 95, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2022 in Digby General Hospital. Born in Weaver Settlement, September 15, 1926, Dora was a daughter of the late William and Laura (Lewis) Barr.
During WWII Dora worked at Acadia University, then for several years after the war Dora worked as a permissive school teacher, teaching in rural one-room schools. Afterwards, she clerked at Consumers Market and then lastly at Weymouth Supplies that Dora and her husband Grantham owned; where Dora could be found behind the counter always ready to help a customer. She was an avid gardener and a charter member of the Weymouth Church of Christ.
Dora is survived by brother, Sendel Barr, Iowa, U.S.A.; nephew Clarence Prime, Weymouth; niece, Shanna Prime, Weymouth and sister in-law, Hilda Barr.
She was predeceased by husband, W. Grantham Bell; brothers, Gordon Barr and Lester Barr; sisters, Annie Dennison; Della Prime and infant sister Jean; brothers-in-law, Forrest Prime and Albert Dennison.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 5 from 1 to 2pm with service to follow at 2pm, all from Weymouth Church of Christ, Pastor Lou Outhouse to officiate with burial to follow.
