

Amero, George Alfred, 76, New Edinburgh Rd. fell asleep in Christ on September 9, 2013 at home. Born on March 11, 1937 in Weaver Settlement, Digby Co. he was a son of the late Clyde and Mae (Gavel) Amero. George was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who had a big heart and would always help others and cared for many. He was a foster father who reached out to anyone of need of a helping hand. Surviving are daughters Marilyn ( Don) Amero Fisher, Stewiacke; Dolores (Stephen) Sentner, Eastern Passage; Annette (Allen) Trebinski, Dartmouth; sons Elvis (Nora) Amero, South Range; Spencer Amero at home; Kyle and Billy Handspiker , Weymouth; Scott Sheaves at home; sisters Helen (Burgess) Weaver, Weymouth North; , Marie (Dennis) Boudreau, Corberrie, Digby Co.; Leota (Henry) Muise, Weymouth North; Leola (Fraser) Mullen, Weaver Settlement; Joan Amero, Digby; Celena (Larry) Stone, Weaver Settlement; Portia (Maurice) Melanson, Weaver Settlement; Marlene Amero, NB; Edward (Dixie) Amero; Weaver Settlement; grandchildren Zabrina, Emelina, Danica, Shayne, Seth, Melody, Joshua, Jeremy, Barbie, Chris, Jody , Matthew, Josiah, Jordan, great grandchildren Morgan, Zoe and Dawson, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Ethel ( Brittain) Amero, granddaughter Dominique, brothers Arnold , Clyde Jr. sister Rosalind (Reginald) Venoit. Visitation 2-4 & 7-9pm Wednesday from Jaynes Funeral Home, Weymouth North. Funeral service will be held 6pm Thursday from the Weymouth Consolidated School. Mr. James McClelland and Mr. Bruce Barkhouse will officiate with burial in Lakeside Cemetery, Havelock. Donations in memory can be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association.
